Visitor's Barn
The kitchen has basic facilities - fridge, cooker, kettle, toaster, electric sockets, dining table, etc.
There are a few pots and pans available, plus crockery, cutlery and most utensils.
There is a charge of 50p per day for use of the fridge, and any other use of the kitchen is an additional £1 per day per adult.
You may be sharing the barn with other campers or volunteers.
If you wish to store your own food and utensils in the barn, you should bring a storage container with a lid.
Use of the barn is subject to availability, and may sometimes be booked at short notice by groups for exclusive use. THE BARN IS NOT AVAILABLE JULY 11th TO AUGUST 21st 2011, because of the Permaculture course we are holding.
Use of the main room and kitchen is available for organised events for £30 per day (does not include overnight use, price subject to review). The main room is about 10m x 5m, with sofas and a wood-burner.
Organic Veg and Fruit
Sean can provide organic veg and fruit boxes for you from Wednesday to Saturday.
His standard veg boxes cost £8, £10, £12.50 or £15. All boxes contain potatoes, onions, carrots, greens, salad and a few other things depending on box size.
Standard fruit boxes are £5, £7.50 and £10. You will get five or six different fruits.
All veg is from Keveral or sourced as locally and sustainably as possible. Fruit is mostly imported.
More info on our other website: www.keveral.co.uk
You must order Sean's boxes by the Saturday before you want it.
Rocket Stoves
These are outdoor cooking stoves that heat a pan quickly and efficiently using small diameter firewood. They can be hired (prices on request), or purchased for £60. There are also adaptors which allow two pans to be heated at once. They are supplied by Wild Stoves.
Campfires
There are shared campfires in The Orchard and The Funky Field that you can cook on or relax around. There are metal grills to rest your pans on.
You can also have your own campfire or barbecue by your tent, if it is raised off the ground and there are no other tents close by.
If you are staying in a yurt, there is a campfire for your personal use.
Firewood is provided at an extra cost, and is a reasonable price. You must not help yourself to firewood nor take wood from the woods.
Cycling in Cornwall
Many of the roads in Cornwall are difficult and dangerous for cycling - bendy, narrow, busy roads with lots of hills!
But there are also many quiet roads and cycle routes (on-road and off-road), including the 19 mile Camel Trail.
